Full-stack engineer

Business software, built end to end.

I take web and mobile projects the whole way: requirements, architecture, build and deployment. Nineteen years of it, most recently for logistics and industrial businesses across Denmark and Europe.

01About

I am a full-stack engineer and technical lead with 19 years of experience building production software for Danish and European companies. I work across React, React Native, Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL and AWS.

How I work

I build web and mobile applications for companies across Denmark and Europe: operations platforms people work in all day, mobile apps that go out into the field with them, and the backends and infrastructure underneath.

That covers dense, data-heavy web interfaces, React Native apps for CRM and field work, multi-tenant platforms with proper permission models, and integrations with ERPs and third-party APIs, including the retry and reconciliation logic when those systems misbehave.

Much of my recent work is modernisation: moving businesses from aging stacks to React, NestJS and PostgreSQL incrementally. I take on the delivery around the code too: monorepos, CI/CD, automated testing and cloud infrastructure, so shipping stays boring. I am also working out where AI actually helps in real codebases: writing rules for coding agents and using AI on the slow parts, without letting it near the decisions that matter.

Background

I started as a backend developer in 2007 and moved through senior backend, backend team lead and frontend technical lead roles before returning to full-stack work.

Sixteen of those years have been with Danish companies: eight leading frontend and mobile at a SaaS company serving trade businesses (a platform used by 200+ business clients and 30,000+ end users), and before that leading backend teams on closed loop marketing software for the pharmaceutical industry at Agnitio and Ciklum, from Copenhagen and across distributed teams in Ukraine and Malaysia.

That route means I am equally comfortable designing a database schema, building a React interface, and setting up the pipeline that ships both.

I hold a master's degree in Computer Science from Kharkiv National University, Ukraine, and a second master's in Organisation of Wholesale and Retail Trade (with honours) from Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics, focused on e-commerce and commercial operations.

Community

I founded a frontend community in Ukraine to help new graduates land their first role in the industry, and I have mentored several junior developers through to senior positions.

I focus on decisions that still make sense five years later: maintainable systems the next developer can pick up without starting from scratch.

Now

I work remotely from Portugal across UK and European time zones.

Independent engagements run from the first conversation through to production: scoping, architecture and build included.

02Skills & Expertise

Technologies and competencies from architecture through to production.

What I build with:

React, React Native, TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL and AWS, plus the monorepo, pipelines and infrastructure that get it shipped. Nineteen years in, I choose tools I can still defend in three years.

    Jul 2023Present

Full-stack engineer working across web, mobile, and backend for a Danish software company, owning client-facing delivery from requirements through to production.

    • Own client-facing delivery end to end: direct client communication, requirements gathering, architecture planning, estimation, and full-stack implementation in TypeScript.

    • Develop the frontend of a React and TypeScript operations portal for a Danish logistics client: 13 production modules, a custom server-driven data grid framework, real-time updates over WebSockets, and integration with the client's Visma ERP system.
    • Build authentication and multi-tenant permissions: dynamic tenant database routing, JWT sessions in httpOnly cookies, migration of legacy credentials to hashed storage, and role guards across around 50 REST endpoints.
    • Run Docker and GitHub Actions CI/CD across three workflows, with lint, test and build gates on every pull request and database migrations applied on deploy.
    • Maintain automated test coverage with Jest and Supertest on the backend and React Testing Library on the frontend.
    • Define engineering documentation and AI-assisted development standards, covering an internal wiki, Swagger API documentation, and coding agent rules.

    • Maguru Mobile CRM App

      Jan 2016 – May 2023

The Maguru mobile CRM was the phone version of the Maguru platform, built for trade and craftsmen businesses in Denmark. It gave users a single timeline of all communication with a customer, regardless of channel (call, email or text) or which team member handled it. Calls made from the app used a virtual number, so customers always saw the same number, and incoming calls followed the account's routing rules for off-hours, busy states and do-not-disturb. In practice it meant a business owner could run work communication from a personal phone without carrying two.

    • Maguru Route Manager

      2019 – 2023

Route Manager was the visual call routing builder in the Maguru platform, used by 200+ business clients to configure how incoming calls were handled, serving 30,000+ end users across Denmark. Instead of writing rules by hand, users dragged nodes onto a canvas, set the logic on each one, and connected them into a routing flow: spam checks, working-hours conditions, escalation chains, and department forwarding.

    • My Craftsman (Mine Håndværkere)

      Dec 2017 – Dec 2020

My Craftsman (Mine Håndværkere) was a mobile app connecting customers with trade and craftsmen businesses using the Maguru platform. Customers could call businesses through virtual numbers and send messages that arrived directly in the Maguru app, with the full communication history stored on both sides. The app also let customers find and contact rated craftsmen in other trades.
